Senior Advocate KM Nataraj has been appointed Additional Solicitor General (ASG) in the Supreme Court. The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified his appointment. Nataraj was earlier serving as ASG for Bangalore, Southern Zone.He had served as ASG in 2009 and 2015 and his tenure was extended by way of re-appointment in May 2018. However, with resignation of ASG PS Narasimha and Maninder Singh later in 2018, the Centre’s legal team in Supreme Court was left depleted. Subsequently, advocate Madhavi Divan was appointed ASGin December 2018. With the appointment of KM Nataraj, the Central government now has six Additional Solicitor Generals in Supreme Court.
